Digi Dare #196

Here's a page for a dare at The Digi Dares. The dare was to scrap a miracle and keep the layout mostly white. As usual, this challenge really was a challenge! I scrapped about something that happened just a few days after my youngest brother committed suicide.

Journaling says: Two days after you died, we were all still in shock. The family was gathering together, grieving and asking a million questions, chief among them, “Why?”

I was standing outside the farm on the patio. It was very late and very dark. I was waiting for our cousin and his family to arrive from VT. I looked westward at the clear, cold autumn sky and began talking to you. Finally, I said, “Joel, I just need a sign... I need you to let me know that you are OK.” A second later a shooting star streaked across the October sky, followed moments later by another.

Your stars were my answer and your answer is my miracle.

After you have the full sentence, your last stop will be at the Scrap N'Art blog. You will find an email address in that final post. Email the full sentence and you will be entered to win a subscription and a prize pack from Scrap N'Art! There will be TWO winners for those prizes! Also, anyone who leaves comments on the blog posts at SRM Stickers and at Get Sketchy will be entered to win prizes from those sites as well!

Honest Scrap Award!

Alright, I just got tagged with the Honest Scrap Award by my sister-in-law Danielle! I am now supposed to list ten truths about myself and then pass this along to others! So here we go:
1. I am crazy about the Enneagram (I am an 8w9.) and I've typed most of my family and friends.
2. I have six tattoos and plans for at least two more.
3. I am a conspiracy theorist and proud of it -- the paranoid ones are the ones who survive!  LOL
4. In November 2008, I started practicing Aikido and I am in the dojo two to five times per week.
5. One of my most under-used talents is shooting pool.
6. I love to go to county fairs and dive bars.
7. I hate spiders.
8. My beverage of choice is a dry, full-bodied red wine. (But at a dive bar, I drink beer right out of the bottle.)
9. My favorite novel is Ahab's Wife by Sena Jeter Naslund; my favorite series is The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and my favorite work of non-fiction is The Great Influenza by John M. Barry.
10. I am frequently underestimated.

So, now I tag Caren!

Vroom!

I feel like I haven't done a layout of my son in awhile.  Here is one I created of my dear, sweet boy with some fabulous products I picked up at Shabby Princess (thanks to Scrap N' Art magazine!).
